H. 'Doc Webster' (Rich 2008)Tetraploid, 6 1/2 inch Bloom, Mid-season, 42 inches tall, Dormant,  4-5 way Branching, 25+ Budcount, Fragrant Saffron Yellow self with small dark olive throat   Visible from across the garden, the flowers of Doc Webster are a clear, vibrant saffron yellow with a small olive throat. The lightly ruffled  petals and blunt sepals are of heavy substance and the throat is smooth and waxy. Tall, 42 inch scapes with wide 4-5 way branching hold the blooms in perfect balance above the blue-green foliage. The combination of height, radiating color and excellent plant habit make Doc Webster an outstanding garden plant.  $50.00 SF

H. 'Promise to Behave' (Rich 2008)  Tetraploid, 5 inch bloom, Mid-season, 32 inches tall, Dormant, 4-way Branching, Budcount of 20 Cranberry-grape Purple with darker purple halo and green throat   A little bit naughty and a whole lot nice, this garden gem promises to behave throughout the bloom season. Ready to greet the day without a care to what the weather brings, this Cold Morning Opener and Early Morning Opener has no problem with cool summmer mornings. The heavy substance of the rich purple blooms is sunfast and shrugs off the rain through all but the heaviest of downpours. The strong S-shaped scapes show her slightly naughty side as they dance in the garden above blue-green foliage. With 4-way branching and 20 buds Promise to Behave is priced reasonably for everyone to enjoy      $50.00 SF

H. 'Proof Positive' (Rich 2008)Tetraploid, 5 3/4 inch Bloom, Mid-Late season, Dormant-Semi-evergreen, 30 inches tall, 3 way branching, 15 buds Pink - cream with large green throat and deep sculpting.   My main focus in hybridizing is working with different forms of embossed sculpting. When Proof Positive bloomed for the first time in 2004, I knew it was special. A soft pink with nicely ruffled yellow edge and large green throat, it displays the deep sculpting normally found only in the yellow/gold/melon color range. The tall 30 inch scapes with wide 3 way branching display the 5 3/4 inch sculpted blooms perfectly. A hardy dormant to semi evergreen, Proof Positive increases well and here in Vermont where rebloom is scarce, it reblooms most years. Very fertile both ways and proving to be an exciting parent for sculpting of several types, I offer Proof Positive that hybridizers even in the far North, are in the quest for new and exciting sculptural forms. $125 SF
